Praise God!!!!

We got some very good news today.  After talking to the lawyer and the judge, Andrei found out that it is possible for Joe to give me power of attorney so that I can apply to adopt Vacya under just my name because the age difference is not a problem with me.  I guess we're setting a precedent in Ukrainian adoption law and the lawyers, court officials, and prosecutors around Simferopol and even some in Kiev have heard about our case.  The judge told Andrei that he had wanted to approve our adoption, but could not because the prosecutor objected and the law actually does state that there can be no less than 15 years age difference between the adoptive parents.

We are planning on coming home this weekend so that we can work for a few weeks before we have the next court hearing.  We don't know yet when it will be, but it should be at least a few weeks before it will happen.

Kids! Praise God!!!!
Wow! What an emotional rollercoaster for all.
Thanks for the phone call! It must have been a struggle for that judge to give the decision of denial....wanting to give Vacya over to you but his hands were tied. It is great that he told what needed to be done.

This will be great news for Vacya.
Perhaps Tammy can share this news
with his class that YOU GUYS will return to bring Vacya home!

John 16:24..........Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Matthew 21:22..........whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

We are looking forward to seeing Vacyas artwork!

Wow! What a turn of events! So, the judge is sympathetic to you after all! That is good news. I am hopeful that everything will go smoothly with the next process. I am glad you will get to come home for a little while, too. Hugs and kisses to you both!

Joe and Jaime - this is a message I got this morning from Tom Shepard (AIM).
Sorry to hear that Joe and his wife are having difficulty with the adoption. Prayers are being said, and I have also requested prayers for Joe and his family from my workcamp friends around the country. This morning they are receiving prayers from around the United States as well as Canada.

Amy said something last night, but I was dealing with her and about 200 other folks, and I did not get a clear picture of what she was asking for, but we got the job taken care of this morning.

Tom

All three of you are in the thoughts and prayers of everyone at work. See you next week.

Hello,

I recieved the like to your blog from Sue Sova, she is a friend of mine and asked that I pray for you. I have been reading the blog and up to this point didn't want to comment as I felt it was a family blog. But, your experience with the judge and how you handled it was so inspiring that I had to write and share my thoughts. Know that daily I am praying for you and your journey. I have been moved by you display of faith during this process. The way you explained the Lords power to Vacya was perfect. I believe that the Lord is giving you this extra time to prepare you to fulfill his plan. Thank you for sharing your story of faithfulness, love and patience. Chin up! The Lord has his perfect plan and those that seek it will experience abundance.

Hey there! Great news from the Judge! Glad that you have something to leave with hope on! Definately praying that the next court date will tie up loose ends, and make it official!! Praying for your much needed respite from the stress when you come home. And praying that Vacya will not lose heart, which I'm sure is hard right now, especially with those around him saying the opposite. Hugs, and hope.

P.S. Sorry I was gone a few days. Charlie came through his surgery, yesterday, with flying colors. Now for the week recovery.

What wonderful news! I am so glad to hear this. That prosecuter made me so mad!!

I'm sure the trip home will do your both some good. I'm sure Vacya is going to miss you both during the weeks you are home but soon, you will never have to be apart again!

I hope you get a chance to swing through wal-mart while your home so I can hug you both. If not, I'll see you at Church!

Much Love

Angela
