The Circus and Moving Day

Tomorrow Joe, Tammy, and I are taking Vacya's class to the circus. It's right down-town, not far from the apartment where we have been staying. After the circus we might take the kids out for ice cream or to the children's park as well, if the weather is nice. It should be a fun day.

Tomorrow is also moving day for us. We have been staying in the apartment where Shelby, Matt & kids stayed. They had paid rent through tomorrow, so we have been able to stay here rent-free and will just need to cover utilities for the time that we were here. Tomorrow we're moving to Matt & Tammy's house, where we will also be able to stay for free for another 2 weeks. Then, once we get Vacya, we'll be staying at the apartment that we were in originally the first week we were here in Simferopol. It's been a huge blessing to have our accommodations covered for the majority of our stay here, especially since we ended up being here longer than we thought we would be.

I'm not sure if we will have internet access at Matt & Tammy's house, so I may not be able to update the blog as often after today. If we can't get on there, we'll try to get somewhere with wifi at least a few times a week to let everyone know how things are going.

J& J,
Counting down the days 4 more til court date. THEN we count down again!
A circus? What fun! I am so proud of the two of you for making memories for the class for years to come.

On the homefront:
Nathanael Isaac Scates is now home and survived day 1 with three older brothers.
Jeremiah has decided he's not so bad after all but every baby blanket is up for grabs as well as pacifiers!
Javan is facinated with the baby inspecting every inch. He is most gentle and can't get enough of him.
Malachi has been inquisitive on
exactly how did he get here, what's that on his belly button,
How come we couldn't hear him crying when he was right here in moms belly but we can hear him crying from the bedroom way down there, who taught him to turn his head to eat from mommy? How does he know how to do that? How come he's not all wrinkly in water that long when I turn wrinkly in the bath tub? I'm sure he has more questions buzzing around in his head!

Grandma Sue & Grandma Janet (Richardson) are going on a mystery bus trip starting May 4th-May 8th they will not know where they are going until they get there!

Danielle, and Gracie are in Texas to help with new baby with friends of theirs.
Danielle & Gracie flew down yesterday. The new daddy was up here for work & Rob is riding down to Texas with him to help with the drive. Rob, Danielle, Gracie will fly back home together. Whew!

Grandpa Bob had breakfast with "Walt" who is about 80 years old who has recently met Shelby & Matts boys. Walt speaks Russian and they understood each other well. Walt lives at Rock Lake. Granpa has Walts phone # for you if you would like. Walt shared he would be glad to help in anyway.

Are these field trips you are doing with the class the only ones the kids ever do? I agree with your mom that it is such a great thing for you two to be doing for them.

Only a few more days to go! will you be traveling by train to get his birth certificate?

keep us posted!

It is great that the accomodations have worked out so well! That is so great of you guys to be spending so much fun time with all of the kids. I bet Vacya is thinking, Yeah these are MY parents they are the best! I hope that communication is going okay for you and Vacya. Wishing you all the best for your court date. We leave for Florida in the morning, so I don't know how often I will be able to check in.
Love ya Julie
