Possible timeline

After then 10 day waiting period (assuming the prosecutor does not appeal) the adoption will be finalized and Andrei will be able to pick up the paperwork from the court on July 21 or 22. Then we have to go to Vacya's hometown to get his birth certificate changed. Hopefully we can do that on the 22nd, but in Ukraine there are only a few people that do any particular job and they only work certain days, so we'll have to see if the person that does birth certificates in Kerch is working that day. Once we get the new birth certificate, we can apply for Vacya's passport. We can pay extra to have it expedited and get it in 3 days. We're not sure yet if we will stay in Simferopol while we wait for the passport or go up to Kiev. Once we have the passport, Vacya will have a medical exam in Kiev and we will apply for his US Visa at the US Embassy. That should only take a couple of days, so we're hoping to be home by the end of July.

ooJ & J,
No more "Ground Hog Day" lives for you eh? We are praying that the Prosecutor gives it a rest and that these next steps go quickly.

On the homefront:
"Unka" Bill tried to call you many times today but couldn't get thru. Like the two of you, he won't give up. :)

After church the congregation were invited to the home of Mick & Deb Koutz for a picnic honoring Ramseys' parents. (Ramsey is Heidis' husband)
His folks are visiting from Israel.

Grandma Schultheiss is doing fairly well. We spent the afternoon with her filling her in on the progress with Vacya. Grandma has Vacyas' picture right out where she can see it as a reminder to keep praying. She shared that her heart aches for what you are going through. She remembers having to go to the court house only one time to adopt Grandma Sue and the feeling of relief when the judge said "YES" to them. She described it like a big chill that ran thru her body followed by tears of joy.
FYI- We are planning a birthday party for Grandmas 96th this coming August.

We also visted Mary Britting today.
Mary wants you to know that she prays for your son everyday and that you have a quick return. Marys' roommate is 102 and sharp as ever! Wow!

Grandma Sue and I spent the evening at School Section Lake putting things away in her camper and taking a nice long walk.

Nathanael has gained 5 pounds since birth! He rolls over front and back & vice versa.
He smiles and laughs and his brothers lots.

Malachi went to Rock Lake for his first grade camp. He loved it! He wanted to stay the night but it was only a day camp.

Dad and I leave this Thursday thru-Sat with the youth group. Our destination is Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum. We will be staying at Potters Christian Teen Ranch. The first night we are sleeping in TIPIs! Please pray that we have a safe trip.

Well, that should bring you up to date somewhat. Know that we love you. I'm sorry this has been very hard for you guys. Hang in there for these times will soon be over & you'll be headed home.
Love, Dad and Mom.

Kids,
In order for the prosecutor to appeal it seems as though she would have "something" to appeal?
If this is the case chances are pretty good that she will drop it.
We are praying she does.

Joe & Jaime,
I am blessed to work with such a great bunch of people! Thank you.

Today has been a party day in honor
of our "new grandson" Vacya.
"It's a boy" memorabilia is all over the dept!

How appropriate;
Soon Vacya will be planting a new life in the U.S. In honor of this occasion the department in Pt Registration have given both you and I a BEAUTIFUL- ESTABLISHED
Hibiscus Tree. They are HUGE-taller than you!
One is Pink and one is Double Red.
You are supposed to plant your tree with your SON, and I with my GRANDSON. So very cool.
In addition, the girls bought a Wal-Mart gift card for Vacya to shop shop shop.

Love you, Mom
